Motherhood

I never believed in love at first sight until I met her…

After 28 hours of cramps, cries and contractions, at the end of the ordeal called labor, they placed her on my chest. I saw a tiny pair of eyes, just like mine, look up at me. Suddenly my world came to a standstill. She was so tiny, so lovely and I was at complete loss for words.
I never knew I was capable of such unconditional love, until she came to my life… I used to be a deep sleeper but my little one has taught me that my body can function perfectly without adequate sleep.
I never knew I could be so selfless and place the needs of another human being ahead of my own.

To feed someone patiently when you are hungry, to comfort someone when you are sleepy…
To hug, to kiss, to comfort,

To love, to protect, to nurture,
To sing, to dance, to entertain,
All this for just a smile… that totally melts my heart.

And for that I say ‘Alhamdullilah’ each day!
